Itinerary

Day 1
  • Embark on an adventure to explore nature up close.
  • Departing from the Santo Amaro dock, we head out in search of dolphins in their natural habitat.
  • Our versatile semi-rigid boats allow us to get closer to wildlife so you can observe cetacean and bird species, with a specialist marine biologist on board.
  • Sailing along the Tagus River, we pass beneath the 25th of April Bridge, heading toward the Atlantic, offering you stunning views of the Bugio lighthouse and the Portuguese coast.
  • Stay alert: dolphins often travel in pods, so spotting one likely means more companions nearby.
  • Sometimes, we find them in the Tagus, but we always venture out to sea to search for other groups or, with luck, other species – whales, sharks, jellyfish, or sea turtles.
  • We’ll have fun watching curious dolphins, learning to distinguish their differences, social habits, and other fascinating details.
  • Get your cameras ready, as they won’t hesitate to approach the boat and play around it.
  • Our tours last
  • 5 to 3 hours, at the end of which we return to the Santo Amaro dock with a short stop in front of the Belém Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries.

This is a safari adventure on the water.

We use fast RIBs for this activity, the most adequate, comfortable and safe for venturing out to sea. Each boat is equipped with a 300 HP engine and go through a rigorous maintenance, safety and engine checks monthly schedule. Our crew is from Lisbon and know the Tagus and the Atlantic waters like the back of their hands.

Both passengers and crew must wear a lifejacket throughout the tour. SeaEO Tours only goes out with safe wind and waves conditions.

Our tour is not allowed for pregnant women or people with severe back or hip issues.

SeaEO cannot be held responsible in case this information is omitted to the crew and anything happens to a pregnancy or any previous health condition is aggravated during or after our tour.

We do not allow children under 5 years of age.

No touching, feeding or getting in the water is allowed, as per European Cetacean Rules.

You may bring a small bag/backpack/camera bag with you. Any cabin or hold-size suitcases, larger travel backpacks, can be stored in a safe booth for an extra 6USD.

We always almost see dolphins on our tour. Our sighting success of the past 5 years ranges from 95 to 98%. This is, however, a safari and if in 3 hours we do not spot them, it's because dolphins weren't in the area.

This activity requires a minimum of 4 participants. Should this number not be reached, we'll get in touch with you to offer alternatives.
