Itinerary
Day 1
- Started from hotel after breakfast by car on the main highway to the North, visit the Akha and Yao hilltribe villages.
- Continue to Mae Sai via monkey cave and drop at the Jade Factory before to have lunch at the local restaurant.
- Tour a busting market-place full of goods from Myanmar and China.
- Then proceed to the ancient city of Chiang Saen including ruins of numerous temples, stupas, Buddha images, Lanna Thai artifacts are still to be seen.
- Archaeological finds are exhibited at the museum.
- The GoldenTriangle the point where the border of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos met.
- 1 hour excursion along Mae Kok River by longtail boat to Karen Village and Elephant ride around the village about 60 mins.
- Return by boat to Chiang Rai, a short stop at the temple on the way back to hotel.
