Description
The Everest Base Camp trek is an iconic adventure in Nepal, drawing trekkers from around the globe. Cost typically ranges from $1,200 to $2,500, depending on the package and inclusions like guides, accommodations, and permits.
The itinerary usually spans 12-14 days, starting from Lukla and winding through picturesque villages like Namche Bazaar and Tengboche, culminating at the breathtaking base camp. A 14-day trek allows for acclimatization, reducing altitude sickness risk and enhancing the experience.
Packages vary, often including meals, lodging, and guided support. A detailed map is essential for navigating the trail and identifying key landmarks. The trek covers approximately 130 kilometers (about 80 miles) round trip, with the base camp sitting at an altitude of 5,364 meters (17,598 feet), making it a significant challenge even for seasoned trekkers.
